Wow. Life has been busy. I have so many pictures to post, but just haven't made the time to do it. I know that most of you who read this blog already know that our precious Thor passed away on July 3rd... A month before he died, he was diagnosed with CHF (congestive heart failure). It's a condition that usually only affects old dogs and old people, which tells us that there was something wrong with his heart since birth.
Thor was only 4 years old and we loved him very much. He was on medication the last month of his life and he seemed to be doing well. He had energy and was happy. He went on hikes and played fetch every day. He died while the girls and I were already in Minnesota. Jason was playing fetch with him in the backyard...he jumped up, caught his frisbee in his mouth, was running back to Jason and then collapsed in the yard and died very quickly. It makes us happy that he died doing the one thing that he LOVED more than anything...playing fetch with Jason.
This has been especially hard for Jason. I don't think that there has been a single day when he hasn't gotten choked up thinking about Thor. And I think about him every day when the girls drop food on the floor and he's not there to eat it up :)
Really though, he was part of our family and we miss him dearly.
He was the best.
